What does this fault code mean?
The telephone module (PHM) checks the button illumination for SOS On Call. The fault is stored when the voltage is too low, which is due to the wire to the lighting being short-circuited to ground. Volvo On Call may then be limited or stop working.
Possible causes
- The wire feeding the button illumination for SOS On Call is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Check the fuses in the fuse box. Their locations are shown in the owner's manual or on the cover of the box
- 2Check whether the lighting in the buttons comes on with the lights switched on, and look for any damaged button
- 3Look for chafed wires to the button lighting, especially where the cable runs in the console
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the lighting has no contact with ground (the body). If the fault returns, a workshop should check the wire
