What does this fault code mean?
The telephone module (PHM) follows the signal voltage on the wire carrying the telephone antenna signal. The fault is stored when that wire has an open circuit or is short-circuited to supply voltage, and then the phone may get no reception or poor reception.
Possible causes
- A break in the wire that feeds the antenna signal into the telephone module (PHM)
- The wire that feeds the antenna signal into the telephone module (PHM) is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Contact resistance, oxidation or intermittent contact in the connector terminals
- The wire from the external GPS antenna to the telephone module (PHM) has an open circuit
What you can do
- 1Check the fuses in the fuse box. Their locations are shown in the owner's manual or on the cover of the box
- 2Check that the connector terminals at the antenna and at the telephone module are firmly seated and clean
- 3Look for breaks, chafing and pinch damage on the antenna cable, especially where it passes through the body
- 4Clear the code and road test the car. If it returns, a workshop should check the antenna cable and connectors with diagnostic equipment
