What does this fault code mean?
The telephone module (PHM) communicates with the central electronics control module (CEM), but receives no answer from the CEM when the ignition is on. The fault can come from loose wires, contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors, or a break in the CAN network. The phone and Volvo On Call can then have limited function.
Possible causes
- Loose contact in wires
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connector terminals
- Break in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Check that the connectors at the central electronics control module are firmly seated and not corroded
- 2Make the same check at the connectors of the telephone module
- 3If the connectors are in order, read the fault codes in the central electronics control module with diagnostic equipment, or have a workshop do it
- 4After the repair: clear the code and road test the car to check that it does not come back
Symptoms you may notice3
