What does this fault code mean?
The telephone module (PHM) checks its own software at start-up and shutdown. The fault is stored when the checksum does not match, which means the software is faulty or incomplete. The phone and Volvo On Call can then have no function or limited function.
Possible causes
- The control module has faulty software
- The software download was interrupted, so the software is not complete
What you can do
- 1Check the fuses in the fuse box. Their locations are shown in the owner's manual or on the cover of the box
- 2Clear the code and road test the car. If it returns, the software in the telephone module is at fault
- 3Have a workshop load a complete software version into the telephone module, as this is a programming task
- 4If the fault remains after reprogramming, the telephone module must be replaced, which a workshop does
Symptoms you may notice3
- The mobile phone does not work
- Volvo On Call does not work as it should
- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
