What does this fault code mean?
The tailgate control module (POT) checks the control valve for the hydraulic proportional valve by measuring its voltage, and has found the signal too high. The cause is a short between the control valve and supply voltage.
Possible causes
- Short circuit from the control valve to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the tailgate are intact
- 2Read off and clear the fault code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 3Check that the connector at the control valve and at the control module are firmly seated and free from corrosion
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the cable to the control valve has no voltage to ground when it should not
- 5If the cable is intact: have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the control valve

- Automatic opening and closing of the tailgate does not work
