What does this fault code mean?
The tailgate control module (POT) checks the voltage supply to the right-hand motor that opens and closes the tailgate. The current on the output has become too low, which means either poor contact in the connectors, a break in the supply cable, or a damaged motor.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in the connectors
- Open circuit in the supply cable
- Damaged motor for opening and closing the tailgate
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the tailgate are intact
- 2Read off and clear the fault code, then open and close the tailgate to see whether the fault comes back
- 3Check that the connectors at the right-hand motor and the control module are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply cable to the right-hand motor has no break
- 5Check that the tailgate moves easily by hand with nothing binding
- 6If the cable is intact: have a workshop check the right-hand motor
