What does this fault code mean?
The power steering control module (PSCM) has registered that its internal temperature is too low, which affects the electro-hydraulic power steering. The power assistance may be weak or missing until the control module has warmed up.
Possible causes
- The module's internal temperature is below the acceptable level
What you can do
- 1Let the car idle for a while so the control module can warm up, then see whether the fault goes away
- 2Clear the fault code and test drive to see whether it comes back
- 3Check that the connectors at the control module are firmly seated and free from corrosion
- 4If the fault returns: have a workshop check the control module
- 5Safety note: steering is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out the further checks if the assistance is still missing
Symptoms you may notice2
- Text window with warning symbol and yellow symbol and text message
- No or poor steering assistance
What the fault can affect1
- Power to the pump motor is restricted
