What does this fault code mean?
The control module has found an internal memory fault in the memory that stores its calibration data and parameters. The check value for the calibration data does not match after the information has been saved, and the fault lies in the control module itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged power steering control module (PSCM)
- Internal memory fault in the control module
- Software fault in the control module
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2If it returns, have a workshop load the control module with the latest software
- 3If new software does not solve the fault, have a workshop replace the control module
- 4Steering is a safety system: have a workshop check the car before driving long distances with abnormal steering
Symptoms you may notice3
- Steering requires extra or uneven effort
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- Other steering or handling problems can be felt
What the fault can affect1
- Steering works with reduced function
