PSCM-U300317
VOLVO
PSCM-U300317 - Battery Voltage. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage above threshold
System
Power Steering Control Module (PSCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The voltage supply to the control module is too high for a longer period, and the fault code is set when this happens.
Possible causes
- Battery voltage is too high
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Voltage supply wire shorted to voltage
What you can do
- 1Check the battery voltage, since too high voltage causes this fault
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Check that the connectors in the supply to the control module are secure and free from oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire is not shorted to positive
- 5Steering is a safety system: have a workshop check the car if the steering keeps feeling abnormal
Symptoms you may notice1
- Steering requires extra or uneven effort
