What does this fault code mean?
The control module's input power, meaning its supply, is too low for a longer period, and the fault code is set when this lasts. Power steering assistance control may then stop working.
Possible causes
- Low battery voltage
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Voltage supply wire shorted to ground
- Open circuit in the voltage supply wire
What you can do
- 1Check the battery charge and voltage
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Check the connectors in the supply to the control module for oxidation and loose fit
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire has no contact with earth (the body) and is not open
- 5Steering is a safety system: have a workshop check the car if power steering assistance does not work
Symptoms you may notice2
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Power steering assistance control does not work
