What does this fault code mean?
The left front seat module (PSL) receives no pulsed signal from the Hall sensor in motor 1, which controls the seat's length adjustment. The fault is stored when no Hall sensor pulse is detected while the motor is activated.
Possible causes
- Damaged Hall sensor in motor 1
- Signal wire shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the Hall sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and run the seat to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: check that the motor 1 Hall sensor value in live data counts up and down as the seat length is adjusted
- 3Check that the connector at the seat motor is secure and free from corrosion
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the Hall sensor is continuous and has no contact with earth (the body) or supply voltage
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the seat motor and the Hall sensor, as either may need replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic operation of the seat or mirrors does not work
