What does this fault code mean?
The left front seat module (PSL) receives no Hall sensor pulse from motor 2, which adjusts the backrest tilt. The fault is stored when the pulse is missing while the motor is activated.
Possible causes
- Damaged Hall sensor in motor 2
- Signal wire shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the Hall sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and run the backrest to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read Hall sensor 2 in live data and check that the value changes as the backrest is tilted forwards and backwards
- 3Check that the connector to the backrest motor is secure and clean
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the Hall sensor is not open and not shorted to ground or supply voltage
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the backrest motor and its Hall sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic operation of the seat or mirrors does not work
