What does this fault code mean?
The left front seat module (PSL) receives no Hall sensor pulse from motor 4, which raises and lowers the front edge of the seat. The fault is stored when the pulse is missing while the motor is activated.
Possible causes
- Damaged Hall sensor in motor 4
- Signal wire shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the Hall sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and raise and lower the front edge of the seat to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: compare Hall sensor 4 in live data as the front edge is raised and lowered; the value should change smoothly
- 3Check that the connector to the front-edge height motor is secure and free from corrosion
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the Hall sensor is not open and has no contact with earth or supply voltage
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the front-edge height motor and its Hall sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic operation of the seat or mirrors does not work
