What does this fault code mean?
The left front seat module (PSL) registers too high a reading from the Hall sensor in the backrest, and the fault code is set then. The fault lies in the earth wire, which has contact with supply voltage.
Possible causes
- The earth wire is shorted to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and run the backrest to see whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the earth wire to the backrest Hall sensor has no contact with supply voltage
- 3Check the connector at the backrest Hall sensor: it should be secure and free from oxidation
- 4If no fault is found in the connector or wire, have a workshop replace the Hall sensor or the control module and then initialise the seat
- 5After the work, check that the seat can move the same distance forwards whether the backrest is folded down or upright
Symptoms you may notice1
- Seat functions work worse than normal
