What does this fault code mean?
The left front seat module (PSL) registers too low a reading from the Hall sensor in the backrest, and the fault code is set then. The wire may be open or shorted to ground.
Possible causes
- Open circuit or short to ground in the wire from the Hall sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, note it and clear it, then test the backrest to see whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire from the backrest Hall sensor is continuous and has no contact with earth (the body)
- 3Check the connector at the backrest for oxidation, contact resistance and looseness
- 4If an open circuit or short is found, repair or replace the wire, or have a workshop do it
- 5After the repair, check that the seat can move the same distance forwards whether the backrest is folded down or upright
Symptoms you may notice1
- Seat functions work worse than normal
