Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent: the control module has on an earlier occasion received no signal from motor 1 for front-rear adjustment (M1+). The fault is not present now. Front-rear seat adjustment then does not work.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in signal cable M1+
- Blown fuse (passenger compartment fuse 4)
What you can do
- 1Check that passenger compartment fuse 4 is intact and sits firmly in its holder.
- 2Move the wiring between the seat control module and the motor gently while you run the front-rear adjustment. If the adjustment stops or the fault code returns, the wiring is suspect.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wiring between the control module and the motor has no open circuit.
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the motor and the control module.
Symptoms you may notice1
- Front-rear seat adjustment does not work
