Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent: the control module has on an earlier occasion received no signal from motor 2 (M2-) for the backrest. The fault is not present now. The backrest angle then cannot be adjusted.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in signal cable M2-
- Blown fuse (passenger compartment fuse 4)
What you can do
- 1Check that passenger compartment fuse 4 sits firmly and is not blown.
- 2Gently move the wiring between the control module and the motor while the backrest is run. If the movement stops or the fault code returns, the wiring is suspect.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wiring has no open circuit between the control module and the motor.
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the motor and the control module.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The backrest angle cannot be adjusted
