Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent: the control module has on an earlier occasion received no signal from motor 3 (M3-) for the seat rear edge. The fault is not present now. Seat rear edge height adjustment is then not possible.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in signal cable M3-
- Blown fuse (passenger compartment fuse 4)
What you can do
- 1Check whether passenger compartment fuse 4 has blown; if so, check the fuse and its holder.
- 2Move the wiring between the control module and motor 3 gently while the rear edge is adjusted. If the movement stops or the fault code returns, the wiring is suspect.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that signal cable M3- has no open circuit.
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the motor and the control module.
Symptoms you may notice1
- Seat rear edge height adjustment is not possible
