Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault code means one of the signal cables to the seat motors, (M1 to M4 and MC) is short-circuited to supply voltage. The power memory seat then does not work at all, and the automatic front seat adjustment (memory) does not work either.
Possible causes
- Short to supply voltage on one of the signal cables for M1, M2, M3, M4 or MC
What you can do
- 1Check that the seat fuses are intact.
- 2Check that the connectors to the seat control module and the motors are firmly seated and free from corrosion.
- 3Use a multimeter to check that signal cables M1 to M4 and MC have no contact with supply voltage.
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the seat motors one at a time and see which one does not work.
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop check the control module and the wiring.
Symptoms you may notice2
- The power memory seat does not work at all
- Automatic front seat adjustment (memory) does not work
