PSM-U042268 - Invalid Data Received From Central electronic module. Algorithm Based Failures. Event information
System
Power Seat Module (PSM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The power seat control module (PSM) receives information from the central electronic module (CEM) over the CAN network and has registered that the incoming value is flagged invalid. The fault therefore comes from the information the central electronic module sends, so the CEM should be fault-traced first.
Possible causes
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM), which must be fault-traced first
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronic module (CEM) and fix them first
- 2Have a workshop fault-trace the central electronic module with diagnostic equipment. It is not replaced unless an internal fault is confirmed
- 3After the repair, test the remote and the seat and mirror adjustment to confirm the functions work
- 4Clear the code and road test the car. If it returns, have a workshop carry on with the fault-tracing
Symptoms you may notice4
- Remote operation does not work
- Automatic seat and outer mirror adjustment does not work
- Front seat, power seat adjustment and folding do not work
- Automatic adjustment to a stored position (memory) does not work
