PSM-U300362 - Battery Voltage. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal compare failure
System
Power Seat Module (PSM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The power seat control module (PSM) compares the voltage it receives directly from the battery with the system voltage that the central electronic module (CEM) reports over the CAN network. If the difference is too large, the code is set. The code is mainly a tool for fault-finding. It matters if it stays stored for a longer time during the current drive and the driver notices a related fault. Otherwise it can be cleared.
Possible causes
- Short to ground in the supply cable
- Supply voltage too low
What you can do
- 1Check that the battery is charged and that its terminals are tight
- 2Check that the seat fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse chart
- 3With a multimeter, check whether the supply cable to the seat control module is shorted to ground (the bodywork)
- 4Clear the code after the checks. If the seat works normally and the code does not return, it does not need any action
Symptoms you may notice2
- The memory seat function does not work
- Front seat, power seat adjustment and folding do not work
