What does this fault code mean?
The right power seat control module (PSR) receives no pulses from the hall sensor in seat motor 4, which raises and lowers the front edge of the seat. Without the signal the module cannot tell how far the motor has moved the seat, and the automatic adjustment does not work.
Possible causes
- Damaged hall sensor in seat motor 4
- Short to ground or voltage in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the hall sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the seat fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse chart
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment, activate seat motor 4 and watch the live data value rise and fall as the front edge goes up and down
- 3With a multimeter, check the signal wire from the hall sensor in motor 4 for open circuits and shorts to ground or voltage
- 4Check the connectors to the seat control module and the seat motor for loose or oxidised contacts
- 5If the wiring is intact but the value does not change, have a workshop check the hall sensor and replace it if faulty
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic adjustment of the seat and outer mirror does not work
