What does this fault code mean?
The right power seat control module (PSR) monitors the backrest hall sensor and finds its signal too high. The fault lies in the ground wire being shorted to voltage, and backrest adjustment is reduced as a result.
Possible causes
- Short to voltage in the ground wire to the backrest hall sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the seat fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse chart
- 2Check the backrest hall sensor connector for poor contact, oxidation and loose joints
- 3With the battery negative lead disconnected, use a multimeter to check that the hall sensor ground wire has no contact with voltage
- 4If the wiring is intact but the fault remains, have a workshop replace the hall sensor and, if the fault still remains, the control module
- 5Clear the code after the work and check that the backrest adjusts as normal
Symptoms you may notice1
- Reduced seat function
