What does this fault code mean?
The right power seat control module (PSR) checks the signal from the backrest hall sensor and registers a signal that is too low. This can come from an open circuit in the cable or from the cable being shorted to ground, and backrest adjustment is reduced as a result.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the cable to the backrest hall sensor
- Short to ground in the cable
What you can do
- 1Check that the seat fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse chart
- 2With the battery negative lead disconnected, use a multimeter to check that the cable to the hall sensor has no open circuit
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cable has no contact with ground (the bodywork)
- 4Check the connectors in the cable for loose or oxidised joints
- 5If the wiring is intact but the fault remains, have a workshop replace the hall sensor and, if the fault still remains, the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Reduced seat function
