What does this fault code mean?
The right power seat control module (PSR) compares its configuration number with the one the central electronic module (CEM) sends on the CAN network. If they do not match, or if communication with the central electronic module is broken, the code is set. The module answers diagnostics, but normal CAN communication does not work.
Possible causes
- Wrong configuration number; the module may be secondhand with other software or hardware than the car should have
- Break in the CAN cables between the module and the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the module is intended for this specific car; a secondhand module may carry other software
- 2First fix any communication faults stored in the central electronic module (CEM), since they can give the same code
- 3With the battery negative lead disconnected, use a multimeter to check that the CAN cables between the module and the central electronic module have no break
- 4Have a workshop load the correct software into the seat module; this is a programming task
- 5Clear the code and road test the car. If it returns after programming, have a workshop carry on with the fault-tracing
Symptoms you may notice4
- Remote operation does not work
- Automatic seat and outer mirror adjustment does not work
- Seat function is reduced
- The memory button does not work
