Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The digital radio receiver (RDAR) checks the signal from the satellite radio antenna and has registered a signal that is too high. The fault lies in the antenna circuit being shorted to voltage, and then the digital radio does not work.
Possible causes
- The antenna circuit is shorted to voltage
What you can do
- 1Check the antenna connector: is it firmly fitted, free from oxidation and free from loose joints?
- 2With the battery negative lead disconnected, use a multimeter to check whether the antenna cable between the receiver and the satellite antenna has contact with voltage
- 3Look for chafing and damaged insulation on the antenna cable where it could touch a live wire, and repair it
- 4Clear the code and road test the car. If it returns, have a workshop carry on with the fault-tracing
Symptoms you may notice1
- The digital radio does not work
