What does this fault code mean?
The rear electronic module (REM) monitors the control signal to the relay coil for the extended power supply. The code is stored if that signal is too low or missing, for example when the relay is absent. The fault is intermittent, meaning it has occurred before but may no longer be present.
Possible causes
- The relay is missing
- Defective relay
- Contact resistance in the relay socket
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and test drive the car, then check whether the tailgate wiper returns correctly
- 2Check that the relay for the extended power supply is seated firmly in its holder
- 3Check the contacts in the relay socket for loose connections and corrosion
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the relay's control signal and replace the relay if needed
Symptoms you may notice1
- The tailgate wiper fails to return to its park position
