What does this fault code mean?
The rear electronic module (REM) monitors the gas fuel level sensor, and if its signal is too low the code is set. The cause is a signal wire shorted to ground. Symptoms can include the trip computer showing the tank empty too early and the automatic headlamp range control not working.
Possible causes
- The signal wire is shorted to ground
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and test drive the car; if it appears again, the fault is still there
- 2Check that the connector to the gas fuel level sensor is secure and free from corrosion
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the sensor is not shorted to ground (the body)
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the sensor and the wiring further
