What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the rear electronic module (REM) gets no signal at all from the seat belt reminder sensor in the passenger seat. The cause may be a break in the signal wire or a defective sensor, and a general warning lamp then lights.

- Break in the signal wire
- Defective seat belt reminder sensor
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and test drive the car; if it shows up again, the fault is still there
- 2Check the connectors to the seat belt reminder sensor and to the rear electronic module for loose contacts and corrosion
- 3Look for breaks and chafing on the signal wire to the seat belt reminder sensor
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the seat belt reminder sensor if needed
