What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, meaning it is sporadic and may not be present right now. The rear electronic module (REM) has registered a missing or too low signal on the ground circuit of the relay coil for the central locking in the rear right door. The fault may lie in the relay contacts, the relay or the control module, and the door may then lock or open incorrectly.
Possible causes
- Oxidation of the contacts in the relay socket
- The relay is loose or missing
- Faulty relay, with an open circuit or short to ground in the relay coil
- Defective control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the relay for the rear right door is firmly seated in its socket and that the contacts are not oxidised
- 2Check that the control module has its power supply
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the relay has no open circuit
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the control module, including whether it is shorted
Symptoms you may notice1
- The rear right door does not lock or open
