What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, meaning it is sporadic and may not be present right now. The rear electronic module (REM) has registered too low a signal on the supply wire to the level sensor while the alarm is set. The fault may be caused by the sensor supply being shorted to ground, or by the sensor itself being faulty.
Possible causes
- The level sensor supply is shorted to ground
- Faulty level sensor
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the level sensor has no contact with ground (the body)
- 2Inspect the wiring for chafing and loose contacts, especially where the cable moves
- 3If no wiring fault is found, replace the level sensor and check whether the alarm works
- 4If the fault returns after this, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment continue the fault-finding
Symptoms you may notice1
- The alarm is not triggered by the level sensor
