What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, meaning it is sporadic and may not be present right now. The rear electronic module (REM) has registered that the signal is missing, or too low, on the ground circuit of the relay coil for the fuel filler flap unlocking. The cause may be oxidised contacts in the relay socket, a loose relay, a faulty relay or a defective control module.
Possible causes
- Oxidised contacts in the relay socket
- The relay is loose or missing
- Faulty relay, with an open circuit or short to ground in the relay coil
- Defective control module
What you can do
- 1Inspect the wiring to the relay for chafing, loose connectors and breaks, especially where it moves
- 2Check that the control module has its power supply
- 3Check that the relay is firmly seated in its socket and that its contacts are not oxidised
- 4If the fault returns or remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment investigate the control module and the wiring
