What does this fault code mean?
The rear electronic module (REM) powers the left rear parking lamp directly from one of its outputs. If the module detects too low a signal at that output, the fault code is set.
Possible causes
- Signal cable shorted to ground
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, then check whether it returns when you switch the parking lamps on
- 2With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the left parking lamp has no contact with ground
- 3Check that the left parking lamp bulb works and that its connector is secure
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wiring and the REM
Symptoms you may notice1
- The left parking lamp does not work
What the fault can affect1
- On cars built from late September 2005, the output is switched off permanently if the fault has been present over many ignition cycles, until the fault code is cleared
