The module (REM) supplies the rear parking lamps straight from one of its outputs. The fault code is set if it sees too low a signal at that output.
Possible causes
- Signal cable shorted to ground
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, then check whether it returns when the parking lamps are switched on
- 2With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the rear parking lamps has no contact with ground
- 3Check that the rear parking lamp bulbs work and that their connectors are secure
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wiring and the REM
Symptoms you may notice1
- The rear parking lamps do not work
What the fault can affect1
- On cars built from late September 2005, the output is switched off permanently if the fault has been present over many ignition cycles, until the fault code is cleared
