What does this fault code mean?
The rear seat entertainment module (RSE) checks that an approved screen is fitted on the left side. The code is set when the screen's serial number is unreadable or missing from the approved list.
Possible causes
- The left screen has an invalid serial number
- Open circuit on the local CAN network
- Short-circuit on the local CAN network to ground or to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the rear seat entertainment are intact
- 2Check that the connectors to the left screen are fully seated and free from oxidation
- 3With a multimeter, check that the cable between the RSE and the left screen has no open circuit and no contact with ground or voltage
- 4With diagnostic equipment, read the screen's serial number among the RSE parameters and see whether it can be read
- 5Have a workshop read the code, check communication between the RSE and the screen, and download new software to the RSE if needed
