What does this fault code mean?
The road traffic information control module (RTI) receives no signal from the GPS antenna. The code is set when that signal is missing, and the car's position on the map may then be wrong.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- A broken wire or a short to ground on the lead from the antenna to the receiver built into the RTI
- Defective GPS antenna
- GPS antenna not connected
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the connector to the GPS antenna is fully seated and free from oxidation
- 2Check that the GPS antenna is connected
- 3If the connections are good and the fault remains, the antenna may be defective; replacing it is a job for a workshop
- 4Park the car outdoors with a clear view of the sky until the RTI finds enough satellites; this can take a long time
Symptoms you may notice1
- The map shows the car in the wrong place
