What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel angle sensor control module has detected a fault in itself. The fault switches off the stability control function. The module is mounted in the lever module, shared with the steering wheel module (SWM), and gets its power from there.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the SAS control module itself
What you can do
- 1Clear the code, road test the car and read the code again to see whether the fault is still present
- 2Turn the steering wheel fully to the right, then fully to the left, and set it straight ahead before reading the code
- 3With diagnostic equipment, read the counters showing how often the fault has occurred: many incorrect driving cycles point to a recurring fault
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop replace the steering wheel module (SWM)
- 5While the fault is present stability control stays off, so have a workshop repair it promptly
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin warning lamp is on
- General warning lamp is on
- Stability control function not working
What the fault can affect1
- Stability function blocked
