What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel angle sensor control module has registered an internal fault. The stability control function is blocked while the fault is present. The module is mounted in the lever module, shared with the steering wheel module, and is powered from there.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the SAS control module itself
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Turn the steering wheel fully to the right, then fully to the left, set it straight ahead and read the code again
- 3With diagnostic equipment, compare the counters for the fault status: many incorrect driving cycles point to a recurring fault
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop replace the steering wheel module (SWM)
- 5The stability function stays blocked while the fault is present, so have a workshop repair it promptly
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin warning lamp is on
- General warning lamp is on
- Stability control function not working
What the fault can affect1
- Stability function blocked
