What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel angle sensor control module has registered an internal fault. It contains two processors that check each other's data, and the fault is set when one processor sees the other requesting information more often than expected. The stability function is blocked while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the steering wheel angle sensor's control module
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Turn the steering wheel fully to the right, then fully to the left, set it straight ahead and read the code again
- 3With diagnostic equipment, the status counters show how often the fault has occurred: many faulty cycles mean a recurring fault
- 4If the code returns, a workshop must replace the steering wheel module (SWM) and program the new unit, as it arrives without software
- 5The stability function stays blocked while the fault is present, so have a workshop repair it promptly
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- General warning lamp on
- Stability control not working
What the fault can affect2
- Stability function disconnected
- Anti-spin function blocked
