What does this fault code mean?
The signal wires for R1, R2, R3 and R4 from the sensor have short-circuited to each other, and the fault is intermittent: it may have occurred without being active now. The fault may also come from an internal fault in the sensor control module.
Possible causes
- Wiring for signals R1 to R4 has short-circuited to each other
- Fault within the sensor control module
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the wiring between the sensor control module and the sensor for an intermittent short circuit between the wires
- 3With diagnostic equipment, follow signals R1 to R4 in live data while turning the wheel and see whether any signal jumps in value
- 4Stability control stays off while the fault is present, so have a workshop repair it promptly if it returns
