Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The voltage supply to the steering wheel angle sensor control module is registered as faulty. The cause may be poor contact at a connector on the sensor control module or steering wheel module, or an internal fault in the control module.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation at a connector on the sensor control module or steering wheel module
- Internal fault in the control module
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the connectors at the sensor control module and the steering wheel module are firmly seated and free from oxide
- 3With diagnostic equipment, read the codes again after the connectors have been checked; if the code does not return, poor contact or oxide was probably the cause
- 4Check the wiring between the control module and the sensor for breaks and chafing; if no fault is found, a workshop may need to replace the sensor
- 5The anti-spin lamp is on, so have a workshop repair the fault promptly if it returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- Anti-spin warning lamp is on
