What does this fault code mean?
The signal from the cruise control switch is offset or wrongly zeroed, so the cruise control does not work. The cause is a communication fault between the stalk and the left-hand steering wheel switch (SWSL).
Possible causes
- Communication fault between the stalk and the left-hand steering wheel switch (SWSL)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Try the cruise control buttons and controls to see whether the function responds
- 3Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 4With diagnostic equipment, read the stalk signals in live data while pressing the buttons, and check that they respond
- 5The steering wheel angle sensor is part of the car's safety systems, so have a workshop repair the fault promptly if it returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- Cruise control stays deactivated for the rest of the journey
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
