What does this fault code mean?

Two or more of the wiper stalk switches are active at the same time for too long, which sets the code. The wipers may then run only at low speed, and the rear window washer may not work.

Possible causes

Single sweep and low-speed wiping activated at the same time
Front and rear washer activated at the same time
Single sweep and high-speed or intermittent wiping activated at the same time
Continuous and intermittent rear window wiping activated at the same time

What you can do

1Check that the fuses are intact
2Try each wiper stalk position and the washer one at a time to see whether any stays active
3Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
4With diagnostic equipment, follow the wiper stalk switches in live data while the stalk is used
5The steering wheel angle sensor is part of the car's safety systems, so have a workshop repair the fault promptly if it remains
