What does this fault code mean?
The sensor's two processors compare the steering information with each other, and the fault is set when the data do not agree. The stability function is blocked while the fault is present. On cars built before mid-August 2009 the sensor software may need an update.

- Fault inside the sensor control unit
What you can do
- 1On cars built before mid-August 2009, a workshop should update the software in the sensor control module
- 2Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 3With diagnostic equipment, read the status counters: many incorrect driving cycles point to a recurring fault, few to a temporary one
- 4If there is no anti-spin lamp and no service message during the road test, a workshop should replace the contact reel
- 5The stability function stays blocked while the fault is present, so have a workshop repair it promptly
