Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelXC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The current through one of the digital or analogue sensors that reads the angle sensor's code wheel is too high or too low. The fault sits in the sensor, and stability control is blocked while it is present.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the angle sensor itself
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2With diagnostic equipment, read the status counters: many incorrect driving cycles point to a recurring fault, few to a temporary one that needs no action
- 3If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the contact reel with the angle sensor
- 4If the code still returns after that, have a workshop replace the steering wheel module (SWM)
- 5The stability function stays blocked while the fault is present, so have a workshop repair it promptly
Symptoms you may notice3

- General warning lamp is on
- Stability function not working
