SAS-C010349
VOLVO
SAS-C010349 - The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) lacks internal voltage (5 V). Internal fault. Electrical fault
System
Steering Angle Sensor (SAS)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelXC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The steering angle sensor (SAS) sits inside the steering wheel module (SWM) and takes its power from it. The code means the sensor lacks its internal supply voltage. The fault is caused by an open circuit in the internal voltage supply to the sensor.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the internal voltage supply circuit to the sensor.
What you can do
- 1Start the engine and check whether the warning lamps are lit. Clear the code and test drive the car to see if it returns.
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the drive-cycle counter. Many incorrect cycles point to a recurring fault.
- 3Check the fuses for the steering wheel module in the car's fuse box. A blown fuse can cut the supply to the sensor.
- 4Have a workshop replace the contact reel or angle sensor if the code returns, and the steering wheel module if it returns after that.
Symptoms you may notice3
- The anti-spin warning lamp lights up
- The general warning lamp lights up
- The stability function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The stability function is blocked
