What does this fault code mean?
The code applies to an electrical fault in the internal voltage supply to the steering angle sensor, and the cause is an open circuit in that supply. The sensor sits in the lever module with the steering wheel module, which supplies its power.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the internal voltage supply circuit to the steering angle sensor.
What you can do
- 1With the engine running, turn the wheel fully right and then fully left, and check whether the code is still stored.
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the counters for the code and see whether the fault occurs often or rarely.
- 3Check that the fuses supplying the steering wheel module are intact in the car's fuse box.
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the contact reel or angle sensor. If the code comes back after that, the steering wheel module (SWM) must also be replaced.
- 5The angle sensor is part of the stability system. Have a workshop carry out the repair rather than working on the steering wheel yourself.
Symptoms you may notice5
- The information lamp lights up
- The anti-spin warning lamp lights up
- Traction control does not work
- The stability function does not work
- The Four-C function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The sensor warns the other control modules that the data it sends is wrong
