What does this fault code mean?
The steering angle sensor has registered a fault in its internal memory. The fault is caused by a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged steering angle sensor.
What you can do
- 1With the engine running, check whether the code is still stored after the wheel has been turned fully one way and then the other.
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the counters and see whether the fault occurs often or rarely.
- 3If the fault returns often, have a workshop replace the contact reel or angle sensor. If the code comes back after that, the steering wheel module (SWM) must be replaced.
- 4The angle sensor is part of the steering and stability system. Have a workshop diagnose and replace it rather than working on the steering wheel yourself.

- Traction control does not work
- The stability function does not work
- The Four-C function does not work
