What does this fault code mean?
This concerns the supervision software in the steering angle sensor, which has two processors. The code is set when an internal software fault is detected, and the fault lies in the sensor.
Possible causes
- Internal malfunction within the steering angle sensor (SAS).
What you can do
- 1Start the engine, turn the wheel fully right and then fully left. Check whether the code is still stored.
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the counters for the code. Many incorrect drive cycles compared with correct ones point to a recurring fault.
- 3If the code returns, have a workshop replace the steering wheel module (SWM).
- 4The angle sensor is part of the stability system. Have a workshop carry out the repair rather than working on the steering wheel yourself.
