What does this fault code mean?
The sensor gets word from the central electronic module (CEM) on the ignition key position. The code is set when that information is missing or wrong for longer than a threshold. The cause then lies in the CEM, and fault tracing continues there.
Possible causes
- Key-position data sent by the CEM is absent or incorrect.
- The cause of the fault is in the central electronic module (CEM).
What you can do
- 1If the code was set while the key was removed, it can be ignored.
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the stored values from when the code was set, and read the fault codes in the CEM.
- 3Have a workshop fault-trace the central electronic module (CEM), since fault tracing continues there.
- 4The angle sensor is part of the stability system. Have a workshop do the fault tracing rather than working on the steering wheel yourself.
Symptoms you may notice5
- The information lamp lights up
- The anti-spin warning lamp lights up
- Traction control does not work
- The stability function does not work
- The Four-C function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The sensor warns the other control modules that the data it sends is wrong
